Step to Root Google Pixel and Pixel XL

This article is intended in detail step by step instructions how to root Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL.

Pre – requirement

You should unlock the bootloader of Google Pixel or Google Pixel XL before done anything.

You should download the boot-to-root SuperSu image file for your Google Pixel device. After downloaded the boot-to-root SuperSu image file, you should extract the zip to get boot-to-rooting.

•                    Google Pixel all variants-Root-Sailfish-pixel zip
•                   Google pixel XL all variants-Root-marlin-pixel.zip

After extract above file, you should visit as bellow,

Setting<about phones < Building number

At the build number, you should tap it 7 times to enable developer options on your Google pixel Android phone.

Finally, back again ahead to the settings < Developer options and enables the USB debugging mod and OEM unlocking.

You should download the minimal ADB and fastboot setup and install clearly them to your personal computer.

You make all backup (Data, Apps) to the external storage.

The pixel device should charge properly.

 

Step to Root Google Pixel and Pixel XL

If you have done above requirement when your phone (Google pixel/Google pixel XL) is eligible to rooting.

1. You should take a well charged Google pixel phone and turn off basically.
2. You should boot it to the bootloader mode pressing and holding volume down power buttons for few seconds.
3. Then, you should connect your PC to Android device (Google pixel/Google pixel XL) using a USB cable.
4. After finished above step, you should go to the ADB fastboot directory. Open that folder.
5. Then you should copy the boot-to-rooting file in the folder.
6. Now, you can select the open command window pressing shift key right key where it is empty space inside of the window.
7. Then, you should enter the command as “c:/program files<x86>/minimal ADB” and Fast boot>fastboot flashing unlock.
8. After gave the command, follow the instructions to process the further steps.
9. You should run “fastboot oem unlock “command.

 

• After you should reboot your Google pixel device to the bootloader mode again. Then you should type one more command as below and press enter key.

Fastboot boot  boot–to-root.img

• Finally boot-to-root. Image files will install on your pixel device. In this case need several minutes to complete. Don’t afraid and be patient.
• After few minutes, you will be gained a rooted Google pixel Android device. Anyway, now your device has complete root privilege.
• To check and confirm, root you can install root checker app from the Google play store.
